This is the rousing feature-length version, condensed from the classic science-fiction serial "Buck Rogers". Based on the original cartoon strip by Dick Calkins and Phil Nolan. Buck Rogers (Buster Crabbe), an American soldier placed in suspended animation hundreds of years earlier, awakens in the year 2500 to find a brave new universe. Buck and his companions, Wilma Deering (Constance Moore) and Buddy (Jackie Moran) rocket from planet to planet in pursuit of "Killer" Kane, a sinister intergalactic despot, and his army of super gangsters, who are hell-bent on controlling the Universe. Made up mostly of footage from the Russian epic "The Planet of Storms" (Planeta Burg), but effective sci-fi nonetheless. (Basil Rathbone's scenes were shot on the set of "Queen of Blood" which he made at the same time.)
